Trainer & Assessor - Security Operations (CPP20218)

About the role

The Hospitality Institute of NSW is seeking a Trainer & Assessor - Security Operations (CPP20218) to join our vocational training team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality training and assessment in security operations, preparing students for rewarding careers in the security industry. Based in Sydney NSW, you will play a vital role in developing the next generation of security professionals by delivering engaging, practical instruction aligned with the CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions in security operations, covering theoretical knowledge and practical skills required by the CPP20218 qualification

• Conduct fair, valid and reliable assessments of student competency against industry standards and training package requirements

• Provide constructive feedback to students and support their progress towards achieving competency

• Maintain detailed and accurate records of student attendance, progress and assessment outcomes

• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in delivery and assessment practices across the institute

• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of vocational students

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the training programme through feedback and evaluation

• Maintain compliance with training package requirements and regulatory obligations

What we're looking for

• TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent/upgrade pathway)

• CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations

• Current NSW Class 1A Security Licence

• Current NSW Class 2D (Security Trainer) licence

• Eligible for or currently approved as a SLED Security Trainer (Subject to SLED Security Trainer approval)

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Security Officer (Recently within Australia)

• Current National Police Check

• Availability to deliver full-day, in-person training on weekdays (Mon–Fri)
