About the role
Maritime Constructions is a marine contractor, uniquely capable of self-performing the full spectrum of specialised engineering disciplines to deliver complex marine infrastructure projects, from design and construction, through to commissioning. Our projects include jetties, wharves, bulk loading facilities, dredging, reclamation, navigation aids, marinas, underwater pipelines in Australia and internationally.
We're currently seeking a highly experienced HSEQ Manager to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis, with an immediate start preferred.
The Role:
This is an opportunity to use your deep industry knowledge, investing in your team, to champion safety and compliance.
Leading your team with pride, you'll promote a strong safety culture, setting the bar for the wider organisation to follow. You'll be part of a supportive, close-knit team, who thrive on the diverse and challenging nature of our industry. Ideally, you'll have experience in the Marine Construction industry but if not, a general construction or heavy industry background will also be a great fit.
Your attention to detail and commitment to health, safety, environment and quality, will be exemplary, and you will naturally hit the ground running, by quickly establishing positive stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally and working with your new team to establish an effective and proactive support to the wider company.
Embodying positive leadership, collaboration and flexibility, you will establish a renewed enthusiasm for saftey within your direct reports and Western Australian safety peers.

Responsibilities:
Support HSEQ strategies across the whole WA business arm
Coordinate regular visits to both our local and regional project sites
Work closely with the senior management team, to achieve outstanding HSEQ support and outcomes
Develop and deliver programs and operations on site to drive a strong safety culture
Conduct task observations and workplace inspections/audits for operational and project activities
Coordinate all internal preparation for external audits
Lead the training and mentoring of project team members regarding HSEQ processes and procedures
Conduct investigations, close out incidents, near misses and hazards
Support injury management processes and ensure HSEQ management systems are kept up to date
Skills and Knowledge:
You have a current and comprehensive knowledge of safety legislation, compliance, and industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices in Western Australia
You are a natural and passionate leader, with experience managing a team of direct reports
Ability to apply common sense to your decision making responsibilities and keep your team well informed across all areas of safety and compliance matters.
You have a strong commitment to safety education and proactively look for ways to share your knowledge and prior learning's with your team and the wider organisation
You have a thorough understanding of and commitment to the administrative aspects of the role, as well as the computer/software skills to deliver documentation to a high level. i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Proficient skills in all aspects of safety management systems and records requirements
High level of oral and written communication skills, and ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships
Internal and External Audit experience
Model integrity, respect and enthusiasm
Qualifications:
Diploma Work Health & Safety - Preferred, or;
Cert 4 in Work Health & Safety - Minimum required
Relevant experience in construction (marine is preferred) or heavy industry
Current qualifications in Incident Cause Analysis Measures (ICAM)
Extensive experience leading investigations
Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
RTWSA Coordinator Training - Advantageous
Mates In Construction, Mental Health First Aid, or equivilent training - Advantageous
HLTFA301B - Apply Basic First Aid
HLTFA201A - Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
HLTCPR201A -Perform CPR
Current Class C Drivers Licence
