The Opportunity

Working closely with Special Counsel Dean Aitchison in our Sunshine Coast Construction team, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of construction matters, including:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts (AS‑standard forms, bespoke contracts, consultancy agreements, subcontractor agreements).

• Front‑end advisory work for developers, builders, contractors, subcontractors and consultants.

• Project support across procurement, risk allocation, contract administration and project delivery.

• Assisting with early‑stage dispute avoidance, contract interpretation and strategic advice.

• Exposure to broader commercial matters as part of integrated project delivery.

This role is ideal for a motivated junior lawyer who wants hands‑on experience, direct client contact, and the opportunity to develop strong technical and commercial skills under highly supportive senior lawyers.

The Candidate

You will bring:

• The ability to run files with guidance from senior lawyers.

• A genuine interest in construction law and the commercial drivers behind projects.

• A proactive, solutions‑focused approach to work.

• Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with clients.

• Strong attention to detail, organisation and file management.

Criteria

Ideally you will have:

• At least one (1) year PAE in construction, commercial or projects work.

• A can‑do attitude and the confidence to tackle new areas of law.

• Initiative and a desire to take ownership of files and client relationships.
