About the Role

St Patrick’s College is seeking an outstanding and innovative Mathematics Coordinator to lead our Mathematics faculty and inspire a culture of excellence in teaching, learning and student achievement.

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Week 1, Term 1 2027. The successful candidate will be invited to participate in an induction and transition program commencing in December 2026 to ensure a smooth handover and successful commencement in the role.  

As Mathematics Coordinator, you will provide strategic leadership of the faculty, lead by example through exemplary classroom practice, and foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. You will be passionate about Mathematics education and committed to empowering young women to achieve their personal best across all stages of learning.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:  

·   Upholding the mission, values and Child Protection commitments of the College.

·   Providing leadership and direction for the Mathematics faculty in alignment with the College's vision and strategic priorities

·   Leading by example through outstanding teaching practice and a commitment to continuous improvement

·   Teaching Mathematics across Years 7–12, including Stage 6 courses

·   Supporting and mentoring faculty staff to achieve excellence in teaching and learning

·   Leading curriculum planning, assessment and program development across all stages

·   Using data and evidence-informed practice to improve student outcomes

·   Promoting innovative and engaging pedagogical approaches that inspire student curiosity and achievement

·   Monitoring faculty performance, curriculum compliance and academic results

·   Maintaining high standards of organisation, planning and attention to detail

·   Fostering a collaborative, positive and professional team culture

·   Working closely with College leadership to support strategic initiatives and whole-school priorities

·    Supporting the pastoral care, co-curricular and community life of the College

·    Upholding the mission, values and Child Protection commitments of the College

·    Maintaining effective communication with parents and carers regarding student learning and wellbeing

·    Supporting the pastoral care, co-curricular and community life of the College

·    Participating in professional learning and ongoing curriculum development initiatives

About You

You are an experienced and passionate Mathematics educator who inspires both students and colleagues through your enthusiasm, expertise and leadership.

You will bring:

• Appropriate teaching qualifications and accreditation to teach Mathematics in NSW secondary schools

• NESA Accreditation (or eligibility to obtain)

• Demonstrated leadership experience or the capacity to lead a faculty team

• Significant experience teaching Mathematics across all stages

• Experience teaching Stage 6 Mathematics courses, including Extension 2 Mathematics (highly desirable)

• A passion for Mathematics and a commitment to fostering excellence in student learning

• Proven ability to inspire, mentor and develop staff

• A demonstrated capacity to lead by example and model best practice

• Exceptional organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail

• Strong analytical skills and experience using student data to inform decision-making

• Excellent communication, relationship-building and interpersonal skills

• A commitment to innovation, reflective practice and ongoing professional growth

• An understanding of and commitment to the ethos and values of Catholic education

• A current NSW Working with Children Check
