About the role
The role
The Business Operations Manager is responsible for owning and executing business operations across the organisation to support sustainable growth and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing banking activities, technology systems, employee lifecycle processes, compliance reporting, and operational efficiency projects.
Key responsibilities
Banking Management such as:
Oversee the provision account for GST, PAYG tax, Employer Super Guarantee
Employee Share Plan Maintenance such as:
Issue annual loan documentation to participating employees in accordance with the Employee Share Plan requirements including prepare and distribute annual interest statements and dividend statements to participants
Maintain a complete and accurate register of all Employee Share Plan activity, including dividends declared and paid, loan repayments, and applicable interest rates
Vendor management such as:
Coordinate vendor relationships and contracts across all offices including overseeing lease agreements, equipment contracts and office renovations or relocation projects
Insurance and Compliance such as:
Manage annual renewals of general insurance policies including Professional Indemnity, Workers Compensation etc
Manage and be the point of contact for the annual financial audit to complete FS70 and FS71 reporting obligations
Operations support such as:
Reconcile actual vs expected revenue on a monthly basis
Support Merger and Acquisition activities by managing and actioning data transfers
Support the COO and Head of Technology as a contact for Third Party Providers
About you
You're a highly organised operator who thrives on structure, accuracy, and continuous improvement. You have a keen eye for detail, take pride in maintaining high standards, and are naturally driven to create efficient processes where none exist. You enjoy bringing order to complexity, ensuring things are done the right way, and maintaining accurate records that others can rely on.
You will bring:
Over 5 years' experience in operations, practice management, business management, or a similar role, ideally within financial services or another professional services environment
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and integrity
Exceptional organisational, project management, and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external providers
Confidence navigating technology, learning new systems quickly, and adapting to an evolving digital environment
Experience supporting business improvements, system implementations, governance, risk, audit, or compliance activities
