About the role
Your Life Disability Support is seeking an NDIS Support Worker to join our on-call roster team on a contract basis. This is a flexible position based in Sefton, NSW 2162, where you will provide essential support and care to individuals with disabilities in our community. As an NDIS Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping participants achieve their goals and maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life. This position offers the flexibility of on-call rostering, allowing you to balance work commitments with personal circumstances while making a meaningful difference in people's lives.
What you'll be doing:
Providing personalised support to NDIS participants with various disabilities, assisting with daily living activities and personal care needs
Supporting participants to access community activities, social engagement and recreational opportunities
Assisting with meal preparation, household tasks and maintaining a safe living environment
Supporting participants with mobility, transportation and accessing local services
Building positive relationships and providing emotional support whilst respecting participant autonomy and choices
Maintaining detailed and accurate records of support provided and any observations regarding participant wellbeing
Communicating effectively with participants, their families, carers and the wider support team
Following individual support plans and adapting approaches to meet each participant's specific needs and preferences
Responding to on-call roster requests and providing timely support as scheduled
Promoting a person-centred approach to disability support in all interactions
What we're looking for:
A current valid Australian Driver's Licence (essential for this role)
Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance or willingness to obtain one
National Police Check clearance or willingness to obtain one
NDIS Workers Screening Check or willingness to obtain one
Current or willingness to obtain a Certificate III in Disability Support or equivalent qualification
Demonstrated experience working in disability support, aged care, community services or a related field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals
Patience, empathy and a genuine commitment to supporting people with disabilities
Ability to work flexibly and respond to on-call roster requirements
Physical capability to provide hands-on support and assistance when required
Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of NDIS principles and person-centred support is highly valued
First Aid and CPR certification is preferred
