About the role

AAM Poultry Rathdowney is modern broiler farm located in the Queensland's Scenic Rim, near the Rathdowney. The farm comprises eight sheds and produces over 1.5 million birds annually.

AAM Investment Group is an Australian owned and operated business, managing a range of agricultural assets across Australia. Assets include beef pastoral operations, mixed livestock and cropping operations, poultry farm operations and timber production facilities.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Farm Manager, you will assist the day to day operations of the poultry farm, including but not limited to:

• General livestock husbandry
• Feeding and watering of birds to maintain peak animal health
• Completion of daily checks, monitoring and record keeping
• Complete shed rounds ensuring equipment repair and maintenance is reported or completed
• Following all site safety, biosecurity and animal welfare standards and procedures.

What we're looking for

• Experience working on a farm or in a rural environment, either formal or informal
• A strong work ethic and willingness to undertake physical labour in all weather conditions
• Genuine care and respect for animals and commitment to their welfare
• Basic knowledge of livestock handling and farm operations, or willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual work including lifting and carrying
• Reliable and punctual approach to work, with reliable transportation
• A valid driver's licence
• Flexibility to work early starts, weekends and public holidays as required
