About the role

The Clinical Nurse – Virtual Emergency Care Service (VECS) provides expert clinical nursing care within Queensland's Virtual Emergency Care Service based at the Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS). Working in an innovative virtual healthcare environment, the role delivers advanced assessment, care coordination and clinical decision-making for consumers accessing virtual emergency care services across Queensland.

The successful candidate will apply contemporary evidence-based nursing practice to support the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of consumer care while contributing to education, leadership, quality improvement and service development activities. The role also provides support and guidance to nursing staff and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, patient-centred virtual care.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Provide advanced clinical nursing assessment, intervention and care coordination for consumers accessing the Virtual Emergency Care Service.
• Apply expert clinical judgement and problem-solving skills to support safe, effective and evidence-based care in a virtual healthcare environment.
• Provide leadership, support and clinical direction to nursing staff and other healthcare team members in complex clinical situations.
• Work collaboratively with consumers, families, multidisciplinary teams and external healthcare providers to facilitate integrated and patient-centred care.
• Contribute to education, quality improvement, research and service development initiatives that support innovation and excellence in virtual emergency care.
