Residential building supervisor

About the role

Burgio Construction is seeking an experienced high end Residential Building Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Fremantle, WA. This is a full-time position that offers a fantastic opportunity to lead and manage residential construction projects from commencement through to practical completion. As Residential Building Supervisor, you will be the key point of contact on site, responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This role is pivotal to our operational success and directly impacts the satisfaction of our clients and the reputation of Burgio Construction.

What you'll be doing

• Overseeing day-to-day site operations and coordinating all construction activities to ensure projects progress efficiently and meet scheduled timelines

• Managing site teams, including tradespeople and labourers, providing clear direction, mentoring and support to ensure a safe and productive working environment

• Inspecting materials, workmanship and completed work to ensure compliance with building codes, contract specifications and quality standards

• Liaising with clients, architects, engineers and other stakeholders to communicate progress, address concerns and manage expectations

• Managing site budgets, tracking costs and reporting on project expenditure to ensure profitability and cost control

• Organising and coordinating the delivery of materials, equipment and subcontractors to site as required

• Preparing and maintaining comprehensive site documentation, including daily reports, progress records and defect lists

• Identifying and resolving site issues promptly, implementing corrective actions and escalating matters to management where necessary

• Ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation and company policies at all times

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory or foreman role within high end residential construction or a related field

• Sound knowledge of residential building practices, building codes and construction methodologies

• Proven experience managing site teams and coordinating subcontractors on multi-trade projects

• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements, including WorkSafe WA regulations and best practice safety management

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, staff and external stakeholders

• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, track costs and produce accurate reporting

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Proficiency in site management software and general IT literacy

• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required

• Preferred: Formal qualifications such as a Certificate III or IV in Building and Construction, or equivalent experience

• Preferred: Previous experience with residential projects in the Perth region
