The Student Engagement team at CSPD is seeking a skilled and passionate Attendance Coordinator to join our team! This is a full-time, permanent role and is perfect for someone passionate about working therapeutically in a Tier 3 intensive support service for students and families experiencing difficulties with school attendance and supporting the implementation of an integrated multi-tiered system of support in schools. 

The Attendance Coordinator is accountable for supporting the System Strategic Intent of improving learning outcomes for all students by focusing on student wellbeing initiatives and promoting a professional and rewarding working life for teachers.

The role is accountable for coordinating the attendance team to promote a culture of wellbeing that optimises learning outcomes for students and supports vulnerable students and families with very complex issues that significantly impact their ability to maintain regular school attendance. This role is across the Diocese and, therefore, will at times involve significant travel. The attendance team is based at AKC.  Travel is reimbursed as per the Enterprise Agreement!

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing leadership and consultation to schools to develop and strengthen proactive attendance frameworks and processes.
• Working collaboratively with school communities to support the implementation of attendance initiatives and programs.
• Building the capability of staff to effectively identify, monitor and respond to attendance concerns.
• Providing advice and consultation regarding significant attendance matters impacting students and school communities.
• Leading and supporting specialist attendance initiatives across the Diocese.
• Contributing to strategic initiatives, operational planning and the continuous improvement of attendance practices.
• Identifying risks and supporting appropriate strategies to mitigate attendance-related risks.
• Building strong and collaborative relationships with schools and key stakeholders.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience in a related field.
• Strong knowledge of attendance practices, policies, procedures and contemporary approaches to supporting student engagement.
• Proven ability to provide advice, consultation and leadership across a complex organisation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with school communities.
• Excellent planning, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to lead teams, delegate effectively and build the capability of others.
• The ability to work strategically while remaining responsive to the needs of schools and communities.
