About the role
Medical Receptionist – Respiratory Specialist Practice (Part-Time)
We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and highly organised Medical Receptionist to join our busy and well-established Respiratory Specialist practice.
This part-time position requires availability Monday and Tuesday, 8:00 am to 4PM - 4:30 pm, with an average of 32–36 hours per fortnight. The role will initially be offered on a 3-month temporary basis, with the opportunity to become permanent following a successful probationary period.
The successful applicant will enjoy working in a fast-paced medical environment and possess excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills. While previous experience in a medical reception role is highly desirable, comprehensive training will be provided to the right candidate.
Greet patients and provide exceptional customer service.
Answer telephone enquiries and schedule appointments.
Liaise with patients, their families and other healthcare providers.
Process billing and payments.
Perform general administrative and office duties.
Undertake medical typing when required.
A warm, friendly, professional and caring manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
The ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment.
Confidence in using computers and technology.
A high level of confidentiality, integrity and professional ethics.
A willingness to learn new software systems, with full training provided.
The ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing workplace requirements.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Previous experience in a medical practice is desirable but not essential.
A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
