About the role

Senior Physiotherapist, Paediatric Rheumatology - Demonstrates clinical leadership in the provision of specialised evidence-based physiotherapy services to children with complex rheumatic, and musculoskeletal conditions alongside the other members of the paediatric rheumatology team

Key duties of the role

• Demonstrates significant breadth and depth of clinical knowledge and skill in the specialised field of paediatric rheumatology, and musculoskeletal physiotherapy
• Provides orientation and training, professional supervision, including Performance Review and Development and support to AHP1/2 team members undertaking physiotherapy roles in rheumatology, and musculoskeletal physiotherapy
• Contribute to evidence-based clinical practice, quality improvement, risk management, service redesign, and ongoing professional development within the Rheumatology Physiotherapy Unit.
• Provide clinical education, supervision and training to physiotherapy staff, students and key stakeholders, and contribute to research projects relevant to the role.

Skills and Experience

• A Degree or other qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
• Minimum five years’ clinical physiotherapy experience in paediatric rheumatology, orthopaedic and/or musculoskeletal settings.
• Demonstrated specialised knowledge and skills in managing complex paediatric conditions in a tertiary setting.
• Experience in staff/student education, training and supervision, with knowledge of NDIS processes.
• Strong communication, multidisciplinary teamwork, clinical systems and evidence-based practice skills.
