Qualified Mechanical Plumber - Leading Hand

We are a family-owned and operated business with over 45 years' experience in the heating and air conditioning industry. Based in Pakenham, we supply and install heating and cooling systems throughout Melbourne, Gippsland and surrounding areas.

About the role

This is a hands-on role for an experienced Mechanical Plumber to join as a Leading Hand. Working collaboratively with the Scheduler, you'll provide practical leadership and technical support to plumbers and apprentices while remaining actively involved in the trade.

Key responsibilities

• Leading by example and supporting plumbers and apprentices

• Providing technical guidance and assistance with more complex work

• Working collaboratively with the Scheduler to keep jobs running smoothly

• Keeping the Scheduler informed of job progress and any issues impacting scheduled works

• Hands-on installation of heating, air conditioning and hot water systems as required

• Troubleshooting faults and resolving technical issues

• Reading and interpreting plans, specifications and technical documentation

• Ensuring high standards of workmanship, safety and compliance

• Supporting the ongoing development and skills of team members

About you

• Proven hands-on residential mechanical plumbing experience

• Leading Hand, senior tradesperson or similar experience

• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical plumbing systems

• Strong troubleshooting and practical problem-solving skills

• The ability to lead, support and mentor a team

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• A commitment to quality, safety and compliance

• Qualified Mechanical Plumber with relevant Victorian registrations/licences

• Refrigerant Handling Licence – RSS03

• Disconnect - reconnect electrical qualification - advantageous

• White Card

• Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain

• Police Check, or willingness to obtain

• Working Safely at Heights, or willingness to obtain

• Current Australian Driver Licence
