About the role
At Aurecon, we are optimistic about the future. We are thinkers, solvers, and collaborators who work with our clients to deliver the infrastructure and assets that strengthen communities and create a sustainable future.
As our new Condition Assessor / Field Coordinator – 12 month fixed term contract, you’ll be a vital part of our Northern Territory Buildings Team. You’ll help us assess and manage important community infrastructure across Darwin, regional centres and remote communities throughout the NT.
Your role will include a mixture of office and field-based work:
Completing condition assessments of facilities including schools, health centres, offices, hospitals and police stations
Collecting information about buildings services such as air conditioning, electrical and hydraulic systems
Identifying and recording building defects and potential safety issues
Contacting sites to arrange access and confirm inspection requirements
Helping coordinate inspection schedules, accommodation, vehicles and other travel arrangements
Travelling throughout the Northern Territory including regular trips to regional and remote communities
Developing inspection programs
No two weeks will be exactly the same. At times you may be inspecting facilities in Darwin whilst at other times you may be coordinating multi-day inspection trips throughout remote parts of the NT.
We require staff with a keen eye for detail. Our clients rely on the information we collect to make decisions about the maintenance, safety and future of their facilities. Attention to detail is essential.
This role offers a clear long-term career path in condition assessment and asset management. As your experience grows, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility in inspection planning, client coordination, quality assurance, team leadership and project management.
We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys a mix of coordination and field-based work. You'll be confident communicating with people, comfortable working independently, and willing to travel regularly throughout the Northern Territory, including remote communities.
You'll also have:
A genuine willingness to travel regularly throughout the NT including to remote communities
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to recording information accurately
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage schedules and make arrangements for a team
Strong communication skills for liaison with site representatives to coordinate inspection schedules
Confidence learning new digital systems and familiarity with the Microsoft suite including Excel and Outlook
The ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a small team
A practical, flexible approach when schedules and site circumstances change
A current driver licence
Able to receive a Working with Children Clearance (OCHRE Card) and a Police Clearance
Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial but is not essential:
Facilities, property or maintenance coordination
Construction or building services
Field services or inspection work
Scheduling, logistics or travel coordination
Asset management
Work in regional or remote locations
All necessary training will be provided and we welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds who can demonstrate reliability, initiative and an interest in developing a long-term career with our team.
We believe your career should be a rewarding adventure. You will tackle some of the world’s most complex infrastructure challenges, in an environment that supports your ambitions, where we hold ourselves, and each other, to the highest standards. Recognised by the AFR as a Best Place to Work in 2026, we embrace diverse perspectives, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact.
We are an engineering consultancy with more than 6,000 people across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
