About the role
The Great Southern Hotel Melbourne (GSH-Melbourne) is a busy hotel located in the heart of Melbourne CBD, offering 265 rooms. Ideally positioned close to Southern Cross Station, Marvel Stadium, Crown Casino, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, New Quay and many of Melbourne’s key attractions, the hotel caters to both business and leisure guests.
We are seeking an experienced, professional and well-presented Night Auditor to join our fast-paced Front Office team on a casual basis.
About the RoleAs our Night Auditor, your responsibilities will include:
Managing guest check-ins and check-outs during the night shift.
Completing daily financial and operational audits accurately.
Auditing hotel transactions and reconciling daily shift reports.
Processing reservations and assisting with guest enquiries.
Ensuring accuracy and professionalism in guest information and billing.
Responding to and resolving guest requests and complaints professionally.
Completing all required night audit and Front Office tasks within set timeframes.
Conducting regular site and safety checks throughout the hotel.
Maintaining a high standard of guest service and hotel presentation throughout the night.
Ensuring a smooth handover to the morning team.
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience in a Night Auditor, Night Manager, Front Office or similar role is highly regarded.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A strong commitment to providing outstanding guest service.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Confidence to make decisions and resolve issues independently.
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Professional grooming and presentation.
A warm, approachable and professional manner.
Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including overnight shifts.
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office 365.
Experience with Opera PMS is highly regarded.
RSA and First Aid certificates are advantageous.
