About the role
Royal Brighton Yacht Club wishes to recruit an OTB & Training coordinator to look after the club's offering of training programs.
Reporting to the Boating Manager, the training coordinator, in conjunction with the Boating Manager takes chief accountability for the daily operation of the Training and OTB sailing.
Days and hours of employment will need to be flexible with weekend and public holiday hours required to coordinate club activities and hosted events
A non-exhaustive list of duties that this role entails are:
Daily operation of the Discover Sailing Centre and the RBYC Club coaching programs.
Manage the Club Instructors and Coaches to maximise revenue, prioritising transition to club sailor and member satisfaction, ensuring the appropriate legal and Australian Sailing obligations are fulfilled.
Ensure all training vessels (Power and Sail) are always maintained and kept in good working order.
Provide support to the club’s Sailing Coordinator to ensure the physical resources required to support the Club’s OTB on water activities are able to be operated, compliant, and in good working order
Assist in an on-water capacity as a Race Management team member when required.
Assist in on water training and coaching as required.
Assist with major regatta and events help at the club as required and requested by the Boating Manager
Assist in the publication of OTB Race Documents (Notice of Races, Sailing Instructions, online forms etc)
Help with marina operations as required as requested by Boating Manager.
Help with OTB racing and results as required.
Contribute to a staff team environment.
Comply with all Club policies and relevant legislation.
Maintain Discover Sailing Centre Accreditation
Respond to participation and training enquiries
Contribute to the review of the training & development strategy
Develop and coordinate youth volunteer program
Deliver training reports to relevant committees outlining participation figures and other relevant information
All other reasonable tasks as requested by Boating Manager
You will be an effective communicator and enjoy excellent relationships with colleagues at every level. You are enthusiastic and cooperative, and pride yourself on your methodical approach and practical nature. You are at your best in a busy environment where you are recognised for your contribution and positive attitude.
Your regular workweek will be flexible but will include weekend shifts during the sailing season.
The Club offers a competitive salary plus superannuation to attract the right energetic person for this role.
Only candidates that have Australia Sailing Instructor or above qualifications will be considered.
