We're seeking an experienced Refrigeration Mechanic to join our Facilities & Engineering team at our Laverton North cold storage facility.

Working with industrial refrigeration systems in a large-scale temperature-controlled environment, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our operations continue to run safely, efficiently and reliably.

About the Role

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and optimisation of refrigeration and facility equipment to ensure operational uptime and compliance across the site. The role involves working closely with operations teams, contractors, suppliers and site stakeholders to maintain critical refrigeration infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting preventative and reactive maintenance on refrigeration plant and equipment
  
• Monitoring and troubleshooting industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
  
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
  
• Ensuring plant reliability, efficiency and operational performance
  
• Coordinating specialist contractors when required
  
• Maintaining accurate records through maintenance management systems
  
• Supporting site compliance with food safety, quality and safety standards
  
• Participating in an on-call roster to support critical plant operations
  

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with Refrigeration Mechanics who enjoy problem-solving, take pride in their work and are comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Refrigeration Mechanic trade qualification
  
• Experience working with industrial refrigeration systems
  
• Exposure to ammonia refrigeration plants
  
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability
  
• Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems
  
• Sound understanding of safe work practices
  
• Current Driver's Licence
  
• Forklift and EWP licences are advantageous but not essential
