RN - Urgent Care Clinic | Albury NSW | Acute nursing, senior team, no nights

You became a nurse for the interesting end of it - the patient who's actually unwell, the wound that needs closing, the child who needs a proper look, the cannula that has to go in first go. Somewhere along the way a lot of nursing jobs turned into recalls, care plans and blood pressures, and the acute stuff got shipped off before you got to touch it.

If you came through ED, you know the acuity is the good part - you're just done with nights and the churn. If you're a practice nurse who's good on your feet and quietly wishes more of the acute presentations landed on you, this is the same itch from the other side.

Border Urgent Care Centre is Albury's bulk-billed Medicare Urgent Care Centre, on David Street, running for the last three years. We treat the presentations that would otherwise sit in an ED waiting room for hours - fractures and sprains, wounds and lacerations, acute infections, minor burns, paediatric presentations, chest and abdominal pain that needs sorting, or that couldn't be squeezed in with the GP. From January we're extending to 8am–8pm, seven days, so there's room to build a real roster around you.

What's different here

• You work at the top of your scope - triage, cannulation, wound care and closures, backslabs, ECGs, point-of-care testing, procedural assist, emergency support. The acute skills, kept sharp.

• You're the backbone of the floor - hand in glove with the doctor, triaging, streaming who needs to be seen and how urgently, and hands-on in the treatments, not just obs and handover.

• A senior team to join - experienced nurses beside you, senior reception and admin behind you, and a doctor or nurse practitioner on the floor every hour. Never solo.

• The shift ends when it ends - no on-call, no night shifts.

• Clinically led, not corporate - run by a doctor who knows both ED-style acute care and general practice inside out, so the floor is built around what nurses and doctors actually need.

Who we're looking for

A Registered Nurse (AHPRA) who's comfortable - and ideally energised - by acute, undifferentiated presentations. ED, urgent care or acute-leaning primary care experience is a bonus, not a must; what matters is that you like this end of the work.

The shifts

• Weekdays 8:30am–5:00pm

• Weekends 10:00am–8:00pm

• Regular days or a flexible mix - we'll build it around you.

Pay

Nurses Award 2020 rates by experience, plus casual loading and weekend penalties where applicable.
