Teaching Internship

Ravenswood School for Girls is a Uniting Church Prep to Year 12 day and boarding school for girls located on Sydney’s North Shore. Ravenswood offers both the HSC and the IB Diploma Programme as well as the PYP in the Junior School. Our Teaching Internship Program provides an invaluable opportunity to work alongside experienced educators, delivering high-quality teaching experiences and engaging with our students. This program aims to enrich your teaching practice while contributing to our school community.

Our Teacher Internship Program is available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students who are completing their final year in 2027. The successful candidates will be employed for one day a week and is expected to conduct their final university internship practicum at Ravenswood. Interns will receive mentorship and guidance from experienced educators throughout the term of the internship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the School’s onboarding and induction process.
• Engage in practical teaching experiences, including spending one day per week at the School:
• Bachelor’s Degree: Terms I, II, and III, with an unpaid internship during Term IV.
• Master’s Degree: Terms I and II, with an unpaid internship during Term III.
• Contribute to academic, wellbeing, and co-curricular activities as directed.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Enrolled full-time in the final year of either a Master of Teaching or Bachelor of Education program in 2027.
• Demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to the teaching profession.
• Possess a valid Working With Children Check, First Aid, and CPR qualifications.
• Hold a valid working visa or Australian citizenship.
• All subject areas will be considered.

Compensation:

Interns will be appointed as Teaching Assistants under the Independent Schools NSW MEA (2025) at School Assistant Level 4.

Following the conclusion of an internship, Teaching Interns are encouraged to explore and apply for any available job opportunities at Ravenswood and to leverage the skills gained during the Internship to pursue further employment with us.
