Purchasing Officer/Storeperson

About the role

Perth Multi Electrics is seeking a dedicated and organised Purchasing Officer / Storeperson to join our Perth-based team.

This is a full-time position that plays an important role in managing our purchasing activities, warehouse inventory, tools and equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining efficient procurement processes, accurate stock records and supporting the operational requirements of our commercial, construction and mining projects.

This position would suit an experienced purchasing or stores professional, or someone with a strong stores background looking to take the next step in their career.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase orders and communicate with suppliers to ensure materials and equipment are delivered on time

• Obtain and compare supplier quotations

• Purchase electrical materials, tools, equipment and consumables

• Maintain accurate inventory, purchasing and stock records

• Monitor stock levels and reorder items to prevent shortages

• Receive, inspect and record incoming deliveries

• Coordinate the storage of materials in the correct warehouse locations

• Pick, pack and prepare materials and equipment for project mobilisation

• Coordinate freight and deliveries to Perth and regional project locations

• Conduct regular stock counts and assist with stocktakes

• Maintain company tool, equipment and asset registers

• Liaise with suppliers to resolve delivery delays, discrepancies and quality concerns

• Assist with managing the warehouse to improve storage and retrieval processes

• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve purchasing efficiency

• Ensure compliance with company procurement, warehouse and safety procedures

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse

• Provide general purchasing, stores and administrative support as required

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, warehousing or stores management

• Strong organisational and time-management skills

• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks

• Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, supervisors and external suppliers

• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team

• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

• Current Australian driver’s licence

• Forklift licence highly regarded

• Qualifications in procurement, supply chain or warehouse management highly regarded

• Electrical wholesale, electrical materials or construction industry experience highly regarded

• Full Australian working rights
