About the role
Head of Middle School at Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC)
The RoleMLC is seeking an outstanding educational leader to lead its Middle School, comprising approximately 585 students across Years 9 and 10.
Reporting directly to the Principal and as a member of the College Leadership Team, the Head of Middle School has both strategic and operational responsibility for the Middle School and contributes to the broader leadership and direction of the College.
The Head of Middle School plays an important role in creating a positive, inclusive and aspirational culture for students and staff, with a strong sense of belonging, connection and shared purpose. A highly visible leader, they will build strong relationships with students, staff and families and work collaboratively across the College to ensure MLC’s learning and wellbeing priorities meet the particular needs of students in Years 9 and 10.
The Middle School provides an engaging and supportive environment for students in Years 9 and 10, complemented by distinctive experiences including MLC Marshmead, the College’s eight-week residential program in East Gippsland, and the Melbourne Term Program.
The role requires an experienced educational leader with a strong understanding of adolescent girls who can combine strategic leadership with the effective day-to-day leadership of a large and vibrant Middle School community.
