About the role
About Our Team:
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges.
The Gender Diversity Service (GDS) is a specialist outpatient service that provides an affirming approach to supporting gender-diverse children, young people, and their families. GDS is the only specialist service in Western Australia that offers multidisciplinary assessment and access to gender-affirming medical care for young people. The service also has a well-established research partnership with the The Kids Research Institute Australia.
Gender diversity is a natural part of human diversity and is not a mental health condition. However, many of the young people accessing the service may also experience mental health challenges and require additional support. If you are passionate about providing gender-affirming care and working within a multidisciplinary team committed to research, innovation, and achieving the best possible outcomes for young people and their families, we encourage you to join our team.
About the Role:
GDS is seeking to appoint Clinical Psychologists who can provide clinical, consultant, education, and research psychology services to infants, children, young people and their families within a multidisciplinary team context; and can provide supervision to clinical psychology Registrars/Trainees (as per Board Approved Supervisor status).
As a Clinical Psychologist at GDS, you will deliver clinical services, provide quality psychological care within our service including the provision of psychological assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive clinical management and intervention planning.
Some of your key accountabilities will include:
This is a permanent full‑time role at 1 FTE (Full Time Equivalent). Part‑time hours (0.6 FTE or higher) may also be considered.
