Rental Account Representative

As part of our ongoing growth, we are exploring a potential future opportunity within our Rental team and would like to invite expressions of interest from motivated, commercially focused candidates interested in a Rental Account Representative role based in Mackay.

This role would present an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional to contribute to the continued growth of our rental business by developing strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities and maximising fleet utilisation across the Central Queensland region.

Reporting to the Rental Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and growing existing customer accounts, developing new business opportunities and ensuring customers receive exceptional service and support throughout the rental lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Foster and maintain value-add relationships with existing customers to secure ongoing rental business and maximise fleet returns.
• Identify, engage, and establish relationships with prospective customers to grow market share and revenue.
• Qualify and respond to customer requirements, providing solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
• Achieve individual sales targets and KPI's aligned with the rental business plan and broader enterprise objectives.
• Promote and maintain our premium rental and support offering, ensuring our value proposition remains competitive within the market.
• Manage customer account activities including credit applications, rental agreements, pricing, invoicing, and collections.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, sales opportunities, customer feedback, and pipeline activity.
• Collaborate with Rental Coordinators, the Rental Manager, and the Credit Team to deliver positive customer outcomes and manage debtor performance.
• Review customer activity, spend trends, and retention data to identify growth opportunities and support customer retention strategies.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essential

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar sales, rental or business development role.
• Knowledge of the rental and heavy equipment industry.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with customers and internal stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
• A results-driven approach with the ability to meet sales targets and business objectives.

Desirable

• Relevant Trade Qualification
• Previous experience within a dry-hire rental environment.
