Paediatric Speech Pathologist

Koorana has an exciting opportunity for early career and experienced Speech Pathologists to join our transdisciplinary team.

Working alongside other Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists and Specialist Teachers, you will support children and young people with developmental delay and disability to participate, connect and thrive through evidence-informed, strengths-based and neuroaffirming practice.

Guided by the National Best Practice Framework for Early Childhood Intervention, our approach incorporates transdisciplinary practice and the Key Worker model. With support from our Speech Pathology Practice Lead, Speech Pathology Team Leaders and seniors and a strong professional development program, you’ll continue to grow your speech pathology expertise while building a rewarding career making a meaningful difference for children and families.

The Role

As a Speech Pathologist, you’ll provide assessment, intervention and capacity-building supports to children and young people aged 0-18 years and their families across our clinic, homes, education settings, community environments and via telehealth.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality speech pathology assessment, intervention and support services.
• Work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team to develop and implement evidence-informed supports.
• Partner with families, educators and other professionals to support participation and outcomes across everyday environments.
• Contribute to innovative service delivery models and maintain contemporary professional knowledge informed by current evidence and best practice.
• Develop and manage a clinical caseload with support from experienced clinicians, leaders and administrative systems.
• Maintain high-quality clinical documentation and professional standards.
• Contribute to broader service initiatives, with opportunities to be involved in school-based clinics, parent and professional learning workshops, student supervision, Koorana preschools, and projects aligned with your interests and experience.

You will have:

• A qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership (or be in your final year of study).
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• A commitment to evidence-informed, strengths-based and neuroaffirming practice.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to work within a transdisciplinary team.
• A commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive practice.
