Animal Attendant

Pay Rate: $33.85 per hour plus penalty rates

Rotating Shifts: 7am – 4:30pm

Hours: 30– 40 hours per week

Our Gold Coast Luxury Pet Resorts requires an exceptional team member to join our growing team.

We are a small, family run business just outside of Nerang, which offers a luxury service for dogs and cats. This is a casual position that includes working weekends, public holidays and school holidays. We are a 7 day a week business, so all staff must be flexible with shifts.

Your role would include (but is not limited to):

• Meeting and greeting our guests and their owners

• Answering phones and emails to provide information to current and future customers 

• Administration duties, data entry and filing

• Providing feedback to clients regarding their pets’ experience 

• Daily feeding (including special diets) and medicating of dogs and cats 

• Pet activities (Walks, Swims, Brush & Massage etc)

• Photos for social media

• Health checks and maintaining animal records

• Hydro bathing, basic grooming and various physical activities with guests

• Showing people through our resort for inspections

• Collecting and delivering our guests using our chauffer service

• Cleaning guests’ accommodation to a high standard

To apply, you will need to:

• Genuinely enjoy working with cats and dogs (paid experience essential)

• Have a good knowledge of dog and cat breeds

• Be confident and competent in handling dogs and cats

• Be computer literate, including Word and Outlook 

• Be experienced and proficient in reception and administration duties 

• Be organised, efficient, accurate and have a particular eye for detail

• Possess a very high standard of customer service skills and a friendly phone manner 

• Be able to work autonomously and multi task in a sometimes-pressured environment

• Be available weekends, public holidays, and all school holidays as well as during the week.

• Have a current Open Driver’s License and own a vehicle

The successful candidates will:

• Learn quickly and understand detailed information without difficulty

• Be physically fit and have energy to burn

• Be quick and eager to help others in your team

• Respond well to time constraints and work efficiently at a brisk pace

• Perform well without direct management, yet welcome some structure and supervision as needed

• Have a great attitude, is personable and very well presented

• Be motivated and have initiative

• Be available for immediate training

• Be available to work every weekend. Only people with full weekend availability will be considered.

• Working Conditions (VERY IMPORTANT!)

  This is a high animal contact position. This job is intense and physically demanding. Work is performed in a pet resort setting indoors and outdoors. Standing on feet for 7 or more hours a day. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather.
