Who are We?

North West Quarries & Concrete (NWQC) is a diverse and progressive supplier of quarry, concrete & landscaping products within the Narrabri and North-West area.  

Concrete operations is a core business unit within the operating structure with some key functional responsibilities including the supply and delivery of pre-mixed concrete, concrete products and landscape products.

Who are we looking for?

Reporting to the Concrete and Precoat Manager, the role will work effectively with other concrete batcher/s while leading the team to meet client service requirements across a 7-day per week work schedule.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Ensuring the quality and timely production and delivery of pre-mixed concrete products

• Effective allocation of trucks and drivers, including shift rostering 

• Undertaking administrative tasks including completion of batch dockets, batch records, daily reports etc. 

• Managing stock control and delivery of raw materials 

• Providing leadership, guidance and direction to business unit staff

• Undertaking preventative and reactive maintenance to batch plant, and facilitating maintenance schedules for mobile plant items. 

Our ideal candidate will possess:

• 2+ years experience batching concrete, preferably using a manual batch plant. 

• Demonstrated understanding of technical concrete aspects including concrete performance, use of admixtures, quality control of raw materials, batch designs etc.

• Experience operating concrete agitators, front end loaders and other plant and equipment

• Excellent time management and organisational skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks at one time. 

• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders.

• Sound written communication and numerical skills.

• A positive, pro-active and pragmatic approach to work.
