Carpenters

About the role

You will work across a variety of carpentry and building projects, giving you the opportunity to use your existing skills while continuing to develop your experience in a practical and varied environment. Projects may include remote housing, residential and commercial construction, renovations and general building works. Working-away-from-home allowances are paid on top of your normal remuneration for eligible remote work.

Key responsibilities

• General residential and commercial carpentry

• Remote housing and construction projects

• Framing, fit-outs and general building works

• Renovations, repairs and maintenance

• Reading plans and working from specifications

• Working safely and maintaining high standards of workmanship

• Working alongside other trades and team members

• Maintaining tools, vehicles and work areas

• Completing work efficiently, professionally and to a high standard

About you

• A fully qualified carpenter or in the final year of their apprenticeship

• Preferred experience in the following areas is highly regarded:

  • Concreting

  • Blockwork

  • Painting

  • Roofing, cladding and flashing

  • External linings

  • Tiling

  • General building and maintenance worksExperienced in general carpentry and building work

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking

• Safety-conscious with a strong work ethic

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

• Proud of the quality of their workmanship

• Willing to learn, develop and take on new challenges

• Physically fit and comfortable working in a variety of environments

• Interested in relocating to Alice Springs and committing to a long-term position
