About the role
If you're an Adelaide-based paediatric Speech Pathologist thinking about your next move, this is worth a read. An established Adelaide private practice is looking for a Speech Pathologist to join their paediatric team on a permanent basis — and they've built the kind of role local clinicians tend to stay in.
About the role: Predominantly paediatric caseload, with room to include a small adult or adolescent mix if that interests you. The practice sees children across the developmental span — early language, school-age communication, literacy, articulation, social communication, feeding, and AAC where relevant — with referrals from paediatricians, GPs, schools and NDIS coordinators across the metro area.
Blend of clinic-based sessions, school visits, in-home therapy and telehealthRealistic caseload set with your clinical lead — not driven by billable-hour KPIFull admin, scheduling and billing support so your day stays clinicalStructured supervision (weekly for new grads and early-career clinicians; monthly-plus for experienced SPs)Access to established assessment tools, therapy resources and a shared clinical libraryWell-developed local MDT referrer network — paediatricians, OTs, psychologists, dietitians and schools you'll likely already know
What's on offer:
Salary $80,000-$120,000 + super, benchmarked to experience (graduates through senior clinicians all considered)Annual PD budget plus paid PD leaveLaptop, phone, and reimbursed travel between sitesGenuine flexibility — 4-day weeks, school-hours arrangements, and hybrid clinic/telehealth setups all on the tableA clinical career pathway (senior, lead and specialty roles as the practice grows)Regular team case discussion, peer supervision and a real social calendar
Why this role, if you're already in Adelaide: The Adelaide paediatric SP market is small enough that most clinicians know most clinics by reputation. This one has a genuinely low turnover rate, a clinical lead who invests time in supervision rather than just billing hours, and admin infrastructure that means your day is clinical work — not chasing referrals, rebooking clients or wrestling with NDIS plan management. If you've been in a role where the workload has crept, the caseload has drifted from what you signed up for, or the supervision has quietly stopped happening, this is worth a conversation.
About you:
AHPRA registration as a Speech Pathologist (CPSP welcome; new graduates supported)Australian work rightsGenuine interest in paediatric work and family-centred practiceComfortable across assessment and intervention; interest in a specialty area (feeding, AAC, literacy, autism support) is a plus but not requiredA current DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC) for South AustraliaNDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
