About the Role

Verandah Brands is hiring a Head of Product to own product as a commercial function across TileCloud, Yabby, Dawn and Verandah Trade. That means the roadmap, the range, the margin and the lifecycle of every product we sell, from ideation through to exit.

The Head of Product is responsible for building lighting into a proper category, reviewing the product portfolio against our trade growth strategy, and reviewing Yabby and TileCloud’s tapware, hardware and tile ranges against the market.

The mission: take Verandah from a $45 million ecommerce business to $100 million within two to three years, with product as one of the main levers.

There’s no dedicated product function today. You’ll build the strategy, the systems, the team and the AI tools that run it, reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer with two direct reports.

You’ll have the opportunity to build this function from the ground up. If you’re commercially sharp, decisive and comfortable owning a revenue number, this role is for you!

About You

• You’re an operator who wants to own product across multiple brands and categories, not just one range. You’ll set category strategy for tiles, tapware and lighting, and you’re just as comfortable setting a margin target as you are briefing a new range with the founders.
• You have hands-on depth in ecommerce or retail product management, and you move confidently between range strategy, P&L ownership and day-to-day execution. Nobody hands you the analysis. You build it yourself.
• A big part of the opportunity is bringing AI into how product runs day to day: competitor monitoring, margin analysis, image production, pipeline visibility. You’ve either done this before or you’re genuinely keen to build it from scratch.
• You don’t wait for a perfect plan. You’d rather set a margin target, launch the range, watch what happens and adjust than spend another month modelling it. Right now, product decisions at Verandah happen ad hoc. You’re the person who replaces that with a structured lifecycle.
• You’re commercially sharp. You tie every range decision back to margin and revenue, and you can hold that conversation directly with the CRO and the founders.
• You’ve led a team before, and you know the difference between managing people and building a function they want to work in.

What You’ll Own

Portfolio Strategy & Category Leadership

• Own category strategy across tiles, tapware, lighting and any category we add next, backed by market and performance data.
• Build and evolve the product roadmap against revenue targets.
• Move the business from one-off launches to structured range development.
• Use AI tools to track competitor pricing, activity and design trends.

Commercial & Margin Ownership

• Track product-level performance with AI-supported analysis, catching margin erosion and underperforming SKUs early.
• Set margin targets across good, better and best tiers.
• Partner with Finance on margin modelling and P&L visibility.
• Make sure product decisions support Marketing’s CAC targets.

Product Lifecycle & Development

• Run a structured lifecycle: ideation, business case, development, launch, optimisation, exit.
• Use AI insights to flag products for optimisation, repositioning or exit before it becomes obvious.
• Build a visible six-month product pipeline.
• Feed returns data back into how we design and improve products.
• Lead new range ideation with the founders, backed by a mini business case before anything gets approved.

Go-to-Market & Merchandising

• Own a launch calendar of three to four waves a year, with six months of forward visibility.
• Partner with Marketing on positioning, and use AI to speed up imagery and cut launch lead times.
• Decide how products sit within ranges, and build the bundles and cross-sell logic that follows from that.
• Work with Ecommerce on product placement, navigation and upsell.
• Build trade and retail adaptation into every launch from day one.

Team Leadership

• Build and lead a product team that uses AI as part of how it works, not as an add-on.
• Set the standard for structured decision-making and commercial accountability.

What Success Looks Like

• Revenue growing from $45 million to $100 million, with product strategy as one of the main drivers.
• Lighting established as a real category, with its own range architecture, margin targets and launch plan.
• The product portfolio restructured to support the trade growth strategy.
• Yabby and TileCloud ranges benchmarked against the market, with gaps, pricing and discontinuations actioned.
• Margin targets (good, better, best) set and held across every category.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone with 8+ years in product, category or merchandise management in ecommerce, retail or consumer products, including at least 3 years leading a function.

You will likely bring:

• A track record of growing revenue through range strategy in a multi-brand or multi-category business
• Strong commercial acumen: P&L ownership, margin management, pricing
• Hands-on experience with AI tools, and a genuine interest in building them into how the function runs
• A decisive, structured approach, and comfort being accountable for a revenue number
• Experience working alongside founders and across Marketing, Supply Chain and Ecommerce
