WE'RE LOOKING FOR ONE APPRENTICE AT NEIKE. NOT TEN, JUST ONE!

So you've finished Year 12, and now you're wondering what's next. You love the idea of creativity, connection, and confidence, and you've seen those hair influencers living their dream. Maybe you're thinking... that could be me one day? Good, because we're genuinely excited to find that person!

Before you keep reading though, let's be honest with you, because that's what we do here. A first year in this industry is not glamorous. You'll be washing hair before you're anywhere near a foil. You'll be corrected, and we'll expect you back the next day, bubbly and ready to try again. Learning is forever part of our craft, and what makes a good hairdresser, take it from me, after 16 years I'm still learning every day! If what you actually want is the good hair day, the polished photo, the finished look, without the year of getting the basics right first, this isn't the place for you and there's nothing wrong with that. But if you want to get technically good at a craft, and you're willing to be a beginner for a while so you can be brilliant later, keep going, because this is where it gets good.

NEIKE has been built over 8 years, not overnight, and we could not be prouder of what it's become. Our director has 16+ years in the industry, is a 2025 Digital Hair Awards finalist for Best Bridal and Event Specialist, and has worked Melbourne Fashion Week, including multiple shows for Original Mineral. We're also a small team on purpose, which means you're not one of twenty apprentices trying to get noticed, you're working closely with all of us, every single day. We only take on one apprentice at a time, because that's what a team our size can actually do properly, and when that's you, we go all in.

WHO WE NEED YOU TO BE:

Here's something we won't sugarcoat: this job is not just about hair, it's about people. You'll be chatting with clients, running the front desk, and being a warm, present face on the floor, not tucked away in the backroom hoping no one talks to you. Our apprentices genuinely hold this team together, we rely on you as much as you rely on us.

So we need someone who's attentive, keen to learn, and gets that connecting with people is just as much the job as the technical side. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room. You do need to be someone who's willing to look up, say hello, and be part of what's happening around you.
