 About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Data & Sustainability Consultant to support the delivery of sustainability, resource recovery and community engagement projects. 

This role combines environmental consulting, stakeholder engagement, data collection, analysis and reporting to help councils, government agencies and organisations improve environmental performance. 

A key focus will be working with Multi-Unit Dwelling (MUD) communities, including apartment buildings and strata developments. You will identify barriers to participation, analyse waste and recycling data, engage directly with residents and property managers, and support targeted education and behaviour change initiatives. 

Using data and community insights, you’ll develop practical recommendations that reduce contamination, increase recycling participation and support circular economy outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Conduct waste audits, bin inspections, contamination assessments and resident surveys  

• Collect and analyse environmental and community data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement  

• Work with councils, property managers, residents and other stakeholders to improve recycling and resource recovery outcomes  

• Deliver education and engagement initiatives that encourage positive behaviour change  

• Prepare data-driven reports, presentations and recommendations for clients  

• Support project planning, research, evaluation and continuous improvement across consulting projects 

About You 
It is envisioned the successful candidate will be an experienced environmental or sustainability professional with the technical capability to work confidently across data, reporting and stakeholder engagement. 

You’ll bring: 

• Demonstrated experience in environmental consulting, sustainability, waste management or resource recovery  

• Strong experience in data collection, analysis and reporting, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills  

• Excellent written communication and report-writing capability  

• Proven stakeholder engagement experience, ideally across councils, government, strata or community groups  

• Sound knowledge of resource recovery, recycling systems and waste management practices  

• Experience delivering waste audits, community research, behaviour change programs or program evaluations  

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities  

• Current Class C Driver Licence
