St John of God Murdoch Hospital

Offering 507-beds, services include an emergency department, operating theatres, endoscopy suites, birth suite and maternity ward, medical library and education centre.
About the role
As an experienced Paediatric Registered Nurse you will provide a high standard of patient care, act as a clinical resource and effectively manage resources to deliver quality patient outcomes in all areas of Paediatrics. You will provide care from admission through to recovery, working with our experienced and dedicated team of paediatric surgeons. As an Enrolled Nurse, you will be under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Casual positions are currently available. Applications will continue to be considered for all positions as they become available over the next four months across all SJG Hospitals and Services.
Key responsibilities
The Enrolled Nurse Position
Function within legal and registration constraints in relation to enrolled nursing practice.
Maintain and develop clinical skills in order to deliver patient care appropriate to level of competence.
Deliver a high standard of patient care utilizing appropriate resources cost effectively.
Adhere to and support hospital policies, procedures and standards.
Act as the patient’s advocate and protect the rights of individuals.
Provide patient education and participate in discharge planning, where applicable or as required.
Participate in quality improvement activities.
Demonstrate a courteous manner to internal and external customers.
The Registered Nurse Position
Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required.
Promote and contribute to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the department and within the hospital.
Provide patient education and act as a resource where appropriate.
Support and supervise staff and students as required, including orientating and precepting staff.
Contributes to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives.
Your skills and experience
You will have demonstrated strong leadership ability, working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment with well-developed skills in communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving. You will liaise with Surgeons, Reps and have strong organizational skills to order loan equipment required for surgeries in a timely manner.
To succeed you will hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and relevant post graduate qualifications.

We can offer you
Enrolled Nurse Salary: $72,637 to $94,929 (pro rata for part-time), plus 12% superannuation
Enrolled Nurse Casual Rate: $45.80 to $59.85 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 12% superannuation
Registered Nurse Salary: $82,945 to $106,630 (pro rata for part-time) plus 12% superannuation
Registered Nurse Casual Rate: $52.30to $67.24 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 12% superannuation
