• Plan, prepare, and cook menu items to meet quality, presentation, and taste standards.
• Inspect ingredients for freshness and ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene

regulations.

• Develop and refine recipes to continually enhance the customer dining experience.
• Manage portion control, garnishing, and plating to ensure consistency in every dish served.
• Operate and monitor kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, and cooking appliances ensuring correct temperatures and settings.
• Season and taste all dishes prior to service to ensure optimal flavour balance.
• Plan menus and estimate food supplies to maintain cost efficiency while minimising waste.
• Prepare meals catering to special dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergen-sensitive options.
• Supervise, coach, and support junior kitchen staff to maintain operational efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene, safety standards, and kitchen best practices.
• Excellent time management, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Creativity and adaptability in menu planning and presentation.
