Your Family OT Pty Ltd is an Occupational Therapist-owned and OT-led practice supporting NDIS participants across Brisbane. We have developed a strong reputation with participants, families, support coordinators and referral partners, resulting in a consistent and diverse referral base.

While we are particularly well known for our paediatric services, we work with participants across the lifespan and support individuals with a wide range of disabilities, functional presentations and support needs. About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join Your Family OT Pty Ltd in a permanent, full-time position.

This is a senior clinical role combining the delivery of high-quality Occupational Therapy services with opportunities to provide clinical leadership, support less experienced clinicians and Allied Health Assistants and contribute to the ongoing development of our clinical practice.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will work with NDIS participants across the lifespan and manage a diverse caseload that may include participants with complex disability and support needs. You will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop and evaluate individualised therapeutic interventions, complete complex clinical reports and provide recommendations aimed at maximising participants' independence and participation in daily living, education, work, leisure and community activities.

Depending on your areas of expertise, the role may also include complex assistive technology, home modifications, housing and home and living assessments, SIL and ILO evidence, and other complex NDIS assessments.

You will also play an important role in supporting the clinical development of the broader team through mentoring, supervision, case discussion, review of clinical work and sharing of professional knowledge.

Key Clinical Responsibilities

Your clinical responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments, including Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA), using clinical observation and standardised assessment tools to evaluate participants' physical, sensory, developmental, psychological and functional abilities across home, school, work, leisure and community environments.
• Planning, implementing and evaluating individualised, evidence-based therapy and capacity-building interventions, including remedial, recreational, social, educational and vocational activities where appropriate, to improve independence, daily living skills and participation.
• Completing Home and Living Assessments to identify functional capacity, support needs and appropriate home and living arrangements.
• Undertaking assistive technology assessments, trials and prescription, including adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs and splints, and liaising with suppliers to support implementation.
• Conducting home and environmental assessments and recommending home modifications and environmental adaptations to improve accessibility, safety and independence.
• Providing advice and education to participants, families, carers, teachers, employers and other stakeholders regarding strategies to support functional participation.
• Preparing high-quality Occupational Therapy and NDIS reports, including FCA, home and living, SIL/ILO, assistive technology and housing reports.
• Collaborating with families, support coordinators, support workers, Allied Health Professionals and other professionals in participant assessment, intervention and case management.
• Working collaboratively with other professionals to provide specialist Occupational Therapy advice to complex participants and specific client groups, such as those requiring driver rehabilitation, third-party compensation and medico-legal representation.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records and documenting participant progress in accordance with legislative, ethical, professional and NDIA requirements.

Senior and Clinical Leadership Responsibilities

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will contribute to the clinical development and quality of the Your Family OT team while maintaining your own clinical caseload. Responsibilities will include:

• Providing clinical supervision, mentoring and guidance to junior Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants.
• Supporting complex clinical reasoning, case discussions, assessment and intervention planning.
• Reviewing reports and clinical documentation and providing feedback to maintain high standards of practice.
• Supporting clinician development across FCA, NDIS reporting, assistive technology, SIL/ILO, home modifications and therapy delivery.
• Providing senior clinical input and guidance for complex participant presentations and advanced Occupational Therapy assessments.
• Supporting the Director to maintain clinical quality, consistency and evidence-based practice across the team.
• Contributing to staff onboarding, internal training, professional development and improvements to clinical processes.

This role is suited to an experienced Occupational Therapist who enjoys complex clinical practice while also supporting the development of other clinicians.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be considered for this position, you will require:

• A Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Occupational Therapy, providing a level of skill commensurate with ANZSCO Skill Level 1.
• Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Demonstrated Occupational Therapy experience and the clinical capability required to work at a senior level.
• Experience undertaking comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention.
• Strong clinical reasoning and the ability to manage complex participant presentations with an appropriate level of professional autonomy.
• Strong written communication skills and demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality clinical and NDIS documentation.
• The ability to provide clinical guidance, mentoring and constructive feedback to less experienced clinicians and support staff.
• Strong interpersonal and multidisciplinary communication skills.
• A current driver's licence and ability to travel to participants within the community.
• A commitment to client-centred, evidence-based and ethical Occupational Therapy practice.

Experience within the NDIS and demonstrated skills in areas such as Functional Capacity Assessment, complex report writing, assistive technology, home modifications, SIL/ILO or complex disability are highly regarded.

Senior clinicians who enjoy leadership can continue developing their skills in clinical supervision, mentoring, staff training and broader clinical leadership. Alternatively, clinicians who prefer a predominantly clinical pathway can continue developing expertise in complex assessment, assistive technology, home modifications, housing, SIL/ILO and other advanced areas of Occupational Therapy practice.
