CEA is an Australian Commonwealth company that designs, develops, manufactures and sustains advanced active phased array radar systems. The company’s design principles and commitment to investment in research and development ensures innovative thinking, technological skill, and quality fabrication.
Our programs include the ANZAC and Hunter Class frigates and air defence applications for Army and Air Force, and Range applications. Through our longstanding and ongoing collaboration with Defence, CEA Technologies has undertaken research and development into all aspects of active electronically scanned array technologies. This has resulted in the creation of a highly modular and scalable product suite, which have become integral to a wide range of critical Defence capabilities.
The Position
We are seeking a Cyber Security Systems Administrator to join our growing security team. This is a full-time position based in Canberra, ACT. In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting our organisation's infrastructure and data from evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining security systems and controls that safeguard our IT environment. This position is strategically important as it bridges technical system administration with proactive security practices, ensuring our organisation maintains a robust and resilient security posture.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, patch and upgrade CEA’s core security toolsets.
Administer the virtualisation platform including cluster health, capacity, VM lifecycle, storage, backup/restore and platform updates.
Administer container platform including cluster options, node health, workload deployment, upgrades and registry management.
Tune and configure tooling to balance security efficacy against system performance (e.g., scan windows, on-access scan exclusions, allowlist and policy design).
Build, harden and maintain the Windows and Linux systems underpinning the security tooling.
Administer security tooling workloads on virtualisation and containerisation platforms.
Apply and maintain OS and application hardening to the ISM, Essential Eight ML3 and/or NIST SP-800-53 requirements (e.g., patching, hardening baselines, application control).
Administer Privileged Access Management solutions to enrol resources, manage roles and access policies, SSO/certificate integration and session recording.

Our Ideal Candidate
Demonstrated Windows Server and RHEL administration in a security context.
Hands-on experience with one or more of; Nessus, Elastic, Trellix, Airlock Digital, Teleport (or equivalent security tooling stack).
Working knowledge of Nutanix and/or OpenShift.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform.
Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISM, DSPF, NIST, ISO 27001) and incident response best practices.
Bachelor degree and/or relevant industry certifications.
Desirable certifications: RHCSA/RHCE, Security+, relevant Microsoft and vendor certifications.
Desirable experience: Arista and Palo Alto Networks.

Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance – Top Secret Positive Vetting .
