The Role:
We are looking for a Experienced Engineer. The ideal person for this role is an all-rounder who can manage multiple projects from inception to completion, contribute to managing a team of Engineers and provide on the job training to our junior team members. You are able to ensure budget, scope, client and business requirements are balanced and achieved whilst being a guide and mentor to junior team members.
This is a great role for someone who has extensive experience, is self-motivated, has a thirst for knowledge and growth, likes to work hard but also values balance. It is the perfect role for someone looking to take the next step in their career, try something different or hone their skills on our niche of Marine Engineering.
About you:
You have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
You have 10 or more years’ industry experience
You are able to write reports
You are able to solve complex technical problems
You are able to prepare and present business cases
You are willing and able to follow instructions
You are able to manage people and communication to get the desired result
You are able to train and develop a team
As our work is around water you must be a capable swimmer and physically able
You must be ok with confined spaces

You are highly literate and numerate, with excellent PC skills

Key Responsibilities:
Site investigations (from a boat)
Condition assessments (from a boat)
Remedial work scoping
Structural analysis
Computer modelling
Concept development and sketching
Detailed design and documentation
Calculations
Compilation of calculation booklets and output matrices
Compilation of technical specifications
Letter and report writing
Client liaison
Management of budget and timelines
Assist with technical development of junior engineers
Work collaboratively with the team
Actively contribute to creation and implementation of business processes and strategy
Communicate effectively (internally and externally)
Management of junior team members
Give technical advice to management and the team
Co-ordinate work programs
Directs or advise on use of equipment and material
Make responsible decisions not usually subject to technical review
Decide courses of action necessary to expedite the successful accomplishment of assigned projects
Manage and work on multiple projects
Review and evaluate technical work
