As a Chef at Club Yeronga, you will be responsible for the following duties: Designing, reviewing and updating menus to reflect seasonal ingredients, customer preferences and the club's dining offerings. Planning food preparation activities and estimating food and labour requirements to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Ordering, monitoring and managing stock levels to maintain adequate supplies while minimising waste.

Preparing, cooking and presenting meals in accordance with the club's quality standards and established recipes. Monitoring the quality of dishes at every stage of preparation, cooking and presentation. Working closely with management, kitchen staff and front-of-house employees to ensure efficient service delivery.

Demonstrating cooking techniques and providing guidance and support to junior kitchen team members. Maintaining consistency in food preparation procedures and portion control practices. Ensuring strict compliance with food safety legislation, hygiene standards and workplace health and safety requirements.

Training and supervising kitchen staff where required. Storing, freezing and preserving ingredients in accordance with established food safety procedures. Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient work environment while ensuring all kitchen equipment is used appropriately.

Qualification & experience The successful applicant will ideally possess: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification. At least one year of relevant full-time experience in a commercial kitchen environment, or at least three years of relevant experience in the absence of formal qualifications.

Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant, club, hotel or catering environment. Thorough knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations. A sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety practices.

Excellent communication and organisational skills. The ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
