About the role
Role Description This part-time Data Analyst (Entry / Junior) role supports UNDP Panama’s projects by collecting, organizing, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data. The position is hybrid, based in Sydney, NSW, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. Daily responsibilities include cleaning and validating datasets, performing basic statistical analyses, and assisting in the development of simple data models to support project monitoring and evaluation. The Data Analyst prepares clear visualizations and summary reports, helps maintain data documentation and metadata, and collaborates with project teams to translate findings into actionable insights. The role also involves supporting communication of results to internal and external stakeholders in an accessible, data-informed manner.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong analytical skills and foundational data analytics capabilities.Candidates should possess knowledge of statistics and experience applying statistical concepts to real-world datasets.Candidates should possess basic data modeling skills, including organizing data structures and building simple analytical models.Candidates should possess clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.Relevant academic background in data science, statistics, economics, engineering, social sciences, or a related field (completed or in progress).Familiarity with spreadsheet tools and at least one analytics or visualization tool (e.g., Excel, R, Python, Power BI, or similar) is an advantage.Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a multicultural environment, and commitment to inclusive and ethical data practices.Interest in sustainable development, public policy, or international cooperation is highly beneficial.
