What we're looking for?
We're currently partnering with a leading organisation seeking an experienced lawyer to join its team on a 12-month full-time secondment.
This opportunity offers exposure to a broad range of commercially significant work, including major growth projects, regulatory engagement, infrastructure development, and the management of existing electricity arrangements. Working closely with a high-performing legal team, you will provide strategic and commercially focused legal support across a portfolio of complex energy, infrastructure and commercial matters.
The ideal candidate will bring strong projects and/or commercial experience, with electricity regulatory experience highly desirable. Lawyers with a strong background in commercial, infrastructure or major projects work, and the ability to quickly understand and navigate regulatory frameworks, will be well suited to this role.
About the Role
Provide legal support across major growth, infrastructure and development projects
Advise on commercial arrangements relating to electricity and energy supply
Support regulatory engagement and assist stakeholders in navigating complex regulatory requirements
Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements and project documentation
Provide commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders across the business
Assist in identifying, assessing and managing legal and commercial risks
Support the management of existing electricity arrangements and contractual obligations
Contribute to the successful delivery of strategic projects and business initiatives
About You
You will be a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working on complex projects and partnering with stakeholders to deliver practical business outcomes.
You will:
Be an experienced Solicitor, Senior Associate or experienced Legal Counsel
Have strong experience in projects, infrastructure and/or commercial law
Ideally possess electricity regulatory experience, although this is not essential
Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and a pragmatic approach to legal issues
Be confident reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
Have the ability to quickly understand and apply regulatory frameworks to commercial matters
Possess excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Be comfortable working autonomously while collaborating effectively with broader teams
Thrive in a dynamic environment and be able to hit the ground running
Be available to commence ASAP for a 12-month full-time secondment opportunity
