About the role
About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.
Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdiction's own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly.
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The MCV determines in excess of 200,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, dealing with over 90 percent of all adult cases that come before Victorian courts each year.
MCV aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the Role
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria is seeking an experienced and passionate Capability Development Lead to play a key role in strengthening family violence practice and information sharing across the Court.
Working within the Court Practice and Strategy Division, you will lead the design and delivery of capability-building initiatives that support court staff, specialist programs and practitioners to confidently respond to family violence and child wellbeing concerns.
This role is responsible for providing expert advice, tools and standards which drive the effective, quality, and consistent delivery of a range of practice areas and programs, contributing to the development of safe and effective family violence practice across multiple Courts and programs, including court operations, the Service Centre, Specialist Courts and Programs, and the Family Violence Practitioner workforce.
Reporting to the Principal Implementation Manager, MARAMIS, the Capability Development Lead will be responsible for embedding MARAM and information-sharing responsibilities in the Magistrates' Court and Children's Court as required under Part 5A of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and Part 6A of the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005.
This role includes the design and delivery of small and large group training, individual coaching sessions, and the development and leading of targeted activities to support the broader workforce capability strategy of the Court Programs and Strategy Division.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on influencing best practice, delivering engaging learning experiences, and driving meaningful change across complex service systems.
