About the role
On behalf of our clients, join a well-established and growing engineering consultancy delivering civil, water and utilities projects across Western Australia. We are seeking a practical and capable Civil Engineer with experience in water, sewer and hydraulic infrastructure to join our Perth team.
You will take ownership of projects from investigation and detailed design through approvals and construction support, working closely with clients, authorities, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
Experience delivering Water Corporation projects in Western Australia, or a strong working knowledge of its standards and approval processes, will be highly regarded.About the RoleWorking across a varied portfolio, you will plan, design, coordinate and support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:Designing water mains, sewer mains, reticulation, service extensions and associated civil infrastructurePreparing engineering drawings, calculations, specifications and technical documentationCompleting hydraulic calculations and contributing to network analysis and modellingCoordinating utility relocations, service connections and multidisciplinary design inputsLiaising with Water Corporation, local governments, developers, contractors and clientsPreparing technical submissions and coordinating authority approvalsReviewing designs for compliance with applicable standards, specifications and approval requirementsProviding technical support during tendering, procurement and construction, including responding to RFIs and resolving site issuesUndertaking site inspections and supporting construction and contract administrationManaging project deliverables, programmes and technical documentation.
About YouYou are a technically sound, solutions-focused engineer who can work independently, collaborate effectively and take ownership of project outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:A recognised bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualificationAt least 5 years of relevant professional engineering experienceDemonstrated civil infrastructure experience, particularly in water and wastewaterPractical experience with water mains, sewer infrastructure, reticulation or civil hydraulic servicesExperience preparing detailed designs and construction documentationStrong technical problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skillsThe ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to agreed timeframesA practical understanding of how engineering designs are constructed in the field.Experience with relevant civil design, CAD or hydraulic modelling software is highly regarded.
Highly Regarded ExperienceWe would particularly welcome candidates with experience in:Water Corporation or comparable water-authority projectsWater and wastewater reticulation, main extensions or upgradesPump stations and pressure mainsLand development and subdivision servicingCommercial or industrial developmentsUtility coordination and relocationsDrainage, stormwater or hydraulic network modellingConstruction supervision or contract administration.
