About the role
We are an independent, co-educational, non-denominational Foundation to Year 12 school located in Caroline Springs, Victoria. At Southern Cross Grammar we prepare our students for lives of purpose and impact, grounded in the belief that when students matter, futures shine brighter.
We invite applications from graduate and experienced French teachers to join our Languages team. The successful candidate will teach French to students in Years 7–9 and contribute to the future development of the French language program through to VCE.
This is an ongoing, 0.5 FTE position commencing in Term 1, 2027. Full-time employment may be available by negotiation for candidates who can offer an additional teaching method.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of evidence-based teaching practices, including those informed by the Science of Learning, and a commitment to developing students’ language proficiency, conceptual understanding and confidence in communicating in French.
Key aspects of the role:
Demonstrated understanding of best practice pedagogy which embraces the principles of personalised learning and encourages high performance outcomes
Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of ACARA guidelines and processes
Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues to develop programs and initiatives that support the academic growth of each student and create opportunities for quality learning experiences
Be an effective communicator with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents and staff
Encourage a positive environment where achievements are celebrated, each student feels valued, and a sense of belonging and connectedness is created for all
Work collaboratively with class teachers to develop programs and initiatives that support the academic growth of each student and create opportunities for quality learning experiences
Ensure that a sound knowledge of emerging trends in educational theory, learning theory, learning technology, student achievement, assessment and methodologies underpins all learning and teaching across programs
