Maintenance Planner Scheduler

Amentum now has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Planner and Scheduler in Alice Springs

The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of maintenance services across our operation in Alice Springs.

This role will see you work closely with maintenance teams, operational stakeholders, and clients. The position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance activities to maximize workforce productivity, asset availability, and operational performance.

Acting as a central coordination point between maintenance personnel and stakeholders, the Maintenance Planner & Scheduler helps minimize operational disruption, optimize resource utilization, and support the successful execution of both planned and reactive maintenance activities.

Responsibilities Include:

Scope, plan, and schedule preventative, predictive, corrective, and reactive maintenance activities using the CMMS, ensuring alignment with operational priorities, resource availability, and contractual requirements. Integrated maintenance plans and schedules, ensuring the right resources, materials, permits, and access requirements are in place to enable work to be completed safely, efficiently, and on time. Plan, priorities, and coordinate maintenance work by balancing resource availability, operational demands, and maintenance priorities to maximize workforce productivity and asset availability. Assist with the coordination of shutdowns, outages, and major maintenance activities, ensuring all labor, materials, permits, equipment, and access requirements are available to support safe and efficient execution. Manage maintenance work orders and scheduling activities within the CMMS, maintaining accurate and reliable maintenance and asset data. Collaborate with maintenance supervisors, operations teams, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication, planning alignment, and successful maintenance outcomes. Facilitate planning and scheduling meetings, fostering collaboration, accountability, and commitment across multidisciplinary teams. Monitor schedule compliance, backlog performance, resource utilization, and other key maintenance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities to improve maintenance performance. Analyze maintenance and operational data to support reliability improvements, optimize maintenance delivery, and inform decision-making. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through the enhancement of planning processes, work order management practices, and CMMS utilization

About You:

Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within an industrial, facilities, infrastructure, utilities, defense, aviation, manufacturing, or similar environment. Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as SAP PM, Pronto, Maximo, or similar. Trade qualification, engineering qualification, or equivalent (desirable)Strong understanding of preventative, predictive, corrective, and reactive maintenance practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Proven ability to coordinate multiple work streams, competing priorities, and stakeholders within a dynamic operational environment. Experience developing and managing maintenance schedules, work orders, and resource plans. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret maintenance and performance data. Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
