What will your typical day look like?

We provide quality advice that improves business outcomes for our clients and enables them to achieve their strategic goals. The diversity of work available across the firm ensures the activities of each consultant are interesting and challenging.

The role includes the full range of actuarial responsibilities within insurance including valuation and pricing, capital management and optimization, strategic advice, merger and acquisition due diligence and valuations, actuarial model builds and testing, and optimising data and reporting processes. On a day-to-day basis, you will support the delivery of client engagements through performing analyses, building models, preparing reports and presentations, attending client meetings and helping the team stay informed on industry updates.

The actuarial team at Deloitte is recognised for providing clients with a full range of advisory, consulting and business algorithmic services across insurance (life, general and health), superannuation and investments, banking and public sector. You will be developing knowledge and experience as follows:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Effective collaboration with internal and client stakeholders at all levels to deliver practical solutions. Ability to work effectively within a team environment. For our senior consultants, we typically expect around 3 years of industry experience. Understanding of actuarial methodologies, financial modelling and sector regulations. Hands-on experience with artificial intelligence tools (e.g. CoPilot) and modelling tools (e.g. Python, Prophet, SQL, R). Effectively plan, delegate and oversee work across junior team members Adaptable and responsive to a continuously changing environment. Willingness and desire to work on client projects across multiple sectors as needed.
