The Opportunity

Coffee sets the pace for the day.

The first pour. The hum of the machine. A familiar order remembered before it’s spoken. At Andaz Gold Coast, we’re looking for a Barista who understands that great coffee is part craft, part rhythm and part connection.

This is a role for someone who cares about the details, enjoys the energy of a busy service and knows how to make every interaction feel easy, warm and genuine.

Who are you?

You’re someone who feels at home behind the coffee machine.

You know how to dial in a grinder, pull a consistent espresso and texture milk with confidence. You notice when something is slightly off and take pride in getting it right.

Just as importantly, you enjoy people.

You’re naturally welcoming, calm when the pace picks up and comfortable starting a conversation with guests from all over the world. You bring personality to your service without making it feel rehearsed.

You enjoy being part of a team, jump in where needed and understand that the best hospitality comes from colleagues working together.

What will you bring?

You’ll bring:

·       Previous barista experience in a café, restaurant, hotel or similarly fast-paced environment

·       Strong espresso preparation and milk-texturing skills

·       A genuine interest in coffee, quality and consistency

·       Confidence working through busy breakfast and service periods

·       Warm, intuitive guest service

·       Strong attention to detail and presentation

·       A positive, collaborative approach with your fellow colleagues

·       The ability to stay organised, clean and composed behind the bar

·       Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including early mornings, weekends and public holidays

·       You must already have current and ongoing working rights

You’ll also bring curiosity.

A willingness to learn more, try something new and understand the story behind what we serve. Because at Andaz, knowing the product matters — but knowing how to bring it to life matters just as much.

What will you do?

You’ll be part of the daily rhythm of Andaz Gold Coast, creating coffee experiences that feel polished without feeling formal.

You’ll prepare espresso-based beverages to a consistently high standard, maintain the coffee station, support smooth service and connect naturally with guests throughout the day.

You’ll remember the regular who likes an extra shot. Notice when someone is in a hurry. Take the time when someone wants to know more.

It’s those small moments that turn service into hospitality.
