HC / MC Heavy Haulage & Truck Drivers Required - Brisbane

About the role

Gatt Bros Transport Pty Ltd is seeking experienced HC / MC Heavy Haulage & Truck Drivers to join our dynamic team based in Bundamba, QLD. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work in the road transport and heavy haulage sector. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting heavy loads across Brisbane and surrounding regions, ensuring timely deliveries whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This role is essential to our company's success and reputation in the transport industry.

Key responsibilities

1. Operate heavy combination (HC) and multi-combination (MC) vehicles safely and legally in compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations

2. Transport heavy haulage loads across Brisbane and regional areas, adhering to delivery schedules and customer requirements

3. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working condition

4. Maintain accurate logbooks and documentation, including load details, travel times and fuel consumption

5. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers and team members regarding load updates and delivery progress

6. Secure loads appropriately using correct weight distribution and restraining techniques

7. Adhere to fatigue management laws and work hour limitations to ensure safe driving practices

8. Respond professionally to customer enquiries and maintain a positive company image

9. Participate in ongoing safety briefings and training programmes as required

What we're looking for

1. Valid Heavy Combination (HC) or Multi-Combination (MC) driver's licence with current medical certification

2. A minimum of 2-3 years' experience driving heavy haulage vehicles in commercial operations

3. Demonstrated knowledge of road safety legislation, fatigue management laws and load restraint standards

4. A clean driving record with no major traffic violations or serious incidents

5. Excellent mechanical knowledge and the ability to identify and report vehicle defects

6. Strong communication and customer service skills

7. Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic

8. The ability to work independently and as part of a team

9. Certification in load restraint and/or heavy vehicle operations (desirable)

10. Experience with different trailer configurations and handling techniques (desirable)
