Production Planner / Scheduler – Precision Machining (Aerospace)

The role:

You’ll take control of production planning and scheduling across turning, milling, and finishing work centres in a high-mix, low-volume environment. You’ll balance capacity, manage constraints, and ensure jobs move through the factory efficiently and predictably.

• Creating and maintaining a finite production schedule across multiple CNC work centres

• Managing capacity vs demand, identifying bottlenecks, and driving solutions

• Releasing and prioritising work to maintain on-time delivery (OTD)

• Working closely with projects, operations, quality, and leadership to align production with customer commitments

• Monitoring WIP and adjusting schedules in real time based on constraints

• Driving continuous improvement in planning accuracy, lead times, and flow

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in production planning/scheduling within precision machining or manufacturing

• Strong understanding of CNC environments, routing, setup times, and capacity constraints

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (APS experience highly regarded)

• Ability to make decisions under pressure and own delivery outcomes

• Commercial awareness—understanding the impact of planning decisions on cost and performance

• Aerospace, defence, or AS9100 experience is highly regarded

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in production planning/scheduling within precision machining or manufacturing
