Assistant In Nursing (AIN) - Agency

MediRec is seeking experienced Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to support residential aged care facilities across the Gold Coast on a temporary and casual basis.

To be considered, you must have recent experience working in an Australian residential aged care facility and hold a relevant Australian qualification or be completing approved nursing studies.

Please do not apply if you do not meet both of these requirements.

You will join established care teams to provide safe, respectful and person-centred support to residents across AM, PM and night shifts.

Duties

• Support residents with personal care, mobility, meals and daily living activities
• Follow individual care plans and accurately document care provided
• Identify and report changes in residents' health or behaviour
• Work effectively alongside nurses and other care staff
• Maintain residents' dignity, comfort and safety
• Follow infection control, manual handling and workplace safety procedures

Essential skills and experience

Applicants must have:

• A minimum of 3-6 months' recent experience working as an AIN, PCA or PCW within an Australian residential aged care facility
• A completed Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Certificate IV in Ageing Support or another recognised aged care qualification

Alternatively, we may consider applicants currently studying a Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing who have completed relevant aged care or clinical placements.

You must also have:

• Full working rights in Australia
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Current Manual Handling certification
• Up-to-date Flu and COVID vaccinations
• A current National Police Check
• Confidence working within an established care team
• Reliable transport and the ability to travel to facilities across the Gold Coast

Overseas care experience is valued, but it cannot replace the required Australian residential aged care experience for these positions.
