RPS has an established client-side project management consulting business in Australia Asia Pacific, with over 400 project management staff.  The RPS Project Management team in Perth currently consists of 70 staff and is continuing to grow. We have a strong workbook for 2026 and beyond, with key long term projects in delivery underwriting our business. 

RPS is currently tracking a range of live opportunities in the defence sector. To support this, we are seeking qualified and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Perth team and contribute to the growth of our project management business. Relocation package available.

About the Role

The Senior Project Manager role offers you leadership, ownership, scope, collaboration, autonomy, challenges, and management of delivering significant projects with valued clients. This role would suit an established project management professional wanting to take a key role in the delivery of infrastructure and building construction projects for Defence clients as well as being part of managing client relationships and the line management team.

While the role is office-based, regular short distance travel for client meetings and site-based activities is required.

About you

You will hold a tertiary qualification in project management, engineering, construction management or similar; and have:

• Australian citizenship and holding or successfully obtaining and retaining a minimum Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance. (PLEASE NOTE AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP IS A REQUIREMENT)

• 8-10 years project management experience

• Demonstrated recent project experience involving buildings and construction for Defence clients

• Demonstrated leadership skills including experience working within and managing teams.

• A strong understanding and proven experience in managing contracts, contract administration and design management.

• Very strong stakeholder management, communications and leadership skills. 

• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail. 

• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook with Microsoft Project desirable.

• AIPM Certified Practising Project Manager certification or equivalent would be viewed favourably

• The ability to work within a large team structure and providing leadership to more junior staff.

• Desire to work on major complex projects.

• Flexible to travel when required to site based meetings and activities for our clients on Garden Island.
