Packing & Distribution Team Leader

Meatsmith currently operates 4 retail stores and a wholesale department. We're continuing to grow, and looking for a Part Time or Causal Packing & Distribution Team leader to join our production team at our St Kilda site. 

The candidate we are looking for is a hands-on team leader with the ability to lead and assist a small team of up 1-2 people in their day-to-day tasks. The right candidate will have strong time management skills. Prior work within the meat, food retailing or restaurant industry preferred. The role will be 20-24 hours per week Part time or Casual (Christmas and Easter will be 38+ hours)

Responsibilities include 

• Daily direct leadership of rostered team members

• Packaging, labelling and dispatch of housemade products

• Ensuring packaging and labelling guidelines are adhered to at all times.

• Working with 3rd party and in-house logistics to ensure product reaches its destination

• Invoicing / reconciling and processing invoices

• Date rotation and stock management

• Assisting in routine stocktaking 

• Receiving stock from internal and external suppliers

• Enforcing all aspects of safe food handling requirements 

• Maintaining high cleaning standards of the department

About Meatsmith:

We have a focus on traditional butchery paired with modern techniques, seasonality, and showcasing specialty breeds. You'll have the opportunity to work with Australia's best produce. 

We have an in house kitchen producing restaurant-quality meals, sauces & condiments, as well as a smokehouse producing a range of smallgoods, pates & terrines. In addition to this, our dry-age coolroom sees a rotating range of cuts from different breeds of beef, sold in-store as well as to some of Melbourne's best restaurants.
